Sequins lingerie

‘I still really love the idea of a sequinned bra, although it could potentially be slightly impractical with ‘catching’ on clothing?’

About the choice of the pieces..         As a lover of lingerie I can’t miss to mix Ikonostas with the sensual white of Chantal Thomass and with the provocative strings of Bordelle, as a fan of costumes to insert the historical pieces produced by Maison Bizarre, as a trend researcher to add motion with the fringes created by Brenda Ford, and as a maniac of luxury details to complete some looks with the elegant gowns of Flora Lastraioli, while N de Samim is the right balance for a romantic effect.

December Recap: a call for Ikonostas, from Brazil!

 

December 2013:

almost a full month spent in Brazil..

 

Always ready to take on new challenges,  this December Ikonostas flied to Uberlandia to support the bespoken Brazilian haute couture brand FABIANA MILAZZO. 

The collaboration consist in:

– trend research, leading up an European eye

– designing and fitting new styles for the new Spring Summer 2015, oh yes, in Brazil fashion week is 6 month earlier compared to Europe

– introducing corsetry

 

It was lovely to collaborate with the company, that is specialized in handmade embroidery, and showing them the art of corsets.

 

 

All the workers in Brazil shown an incredible versatility, the machinists and the pattern cutters have a different method of work, is really far from the strict one I always worked with in Vivienne Westwood Ltd, where Germans and Austrians go directly to the final result, or in Italy, where machinists and pattern cutters show an extreme care for any detail. In Brazil schools well prepared like the European ones don’t exist, but this give to the people an enormous advantage: they wanna learn, they desire improve their method, and they show humble in this desire. I really appreciate this aspect.

I am sure many of you can appreciate the style, the colors, the embroideries and the choice of music. Not bossa nova.. something that I will probably use more, instead, for my next inspirations, totally captured from the amazing Brazil 😉
